Fox News
- Your report will contain two paragraphs.
- Visit a news website and read an article dealing with politics, law, economics, history, culture, religion or any other social studies-related topic. You may use any news website of your choice, but sites of varying political points of view are included below.
- Summary. The summary is to be at least a five-sentence paragraph. The paragraph is to contain a topic sentence (assertion), examples and explanation, and a conclusion (significance). The paragraph is a summary of a current event that you read in a newspaper (on-line newspaper is fine), or news websites. It provides on-the-surface information. WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE?
- Analysis. The analysis is to be at least a five-sentence paragraph. The analysis is to include why this event is important. The event must be of importance to the community, the state, the country or the world. Do not report on an event that is important to only a few people. That would leave out robberies, automobile accidents, entertainment news and sports. In addition to stating why the event is important write your opinion of the event. It provides under-the-surface information. WHY? HOW? COULD? WOULD? SHOULD?
